Binaré

Binare.io (Binare Oy) is a cybersecurity startup founded in mid 2020 as a spin-off from University of Jyvaskyla (Central Finland). Binare was established to bring to the market deep-tech cybersecurity research and innovation being developed at the labs of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Binare's flagship product is its globally unique platform aimed at automating (I)IoT cybersecurity. In particular, Binare Platform is a highly-scalable DevOps/CI/CD-ready technology that can be deployed as SaaS or on-premise, and allows its users to scan (I)IoT binary firmware and software for the purpose of cybersecurity analysis, assessment, reporting, monitoring of vulnerabilities, as well as to perform firmware/software supply-chain analysis and SBOM recovery. Other features include automated pre-certification (e.g., ETSI 303 645, ioXt, UL2900) and enablement of dynamic analysis and penetration testing of supported (I)IoT devices and firmwares. In addition to the platform product development, Binare boasts more than a decade of internationally-recognized cybersecurity expertise and knowledge in specific areas such as cybersecurity of aerospace, avionics, space and satellite systems, and Binare offers these as platform's complementary expert services.

At present, Binare has hybrid offices across Finland (with headquarters in Jyvaskyla) and is powered by a team of 8 in a highly-internationally mixup (6 nations) while keeping a very good gender balance (40%/60%) for a tech company. To date, Binare successfully completed as well as runs more than 10 EU projects, with three projects being under EU Horizon Europe umbrella, and the rest being EU single-SME cascade funding projects. The number and diversity of the projects enabled Binare to partner and collaborate with more than 30 EU organizations including SMEs as well as large and medium research organizations, universities and enterprises.
